Guyana Police Force Throw Full Book At Clairmont Mingo.

District Four Returning Officer Clairmont Mingo has been charged in relation to the alleged fraud surrounding the March 2nd General and Local Election In Guyana.
Over 100 witnesses are expected to testify in the trial against embattled Returning Officer of Region Four Clairmont Mingo who faces charges of misconduct in public office relating to the March 2 general and regional elections.

CONTROVERSIAL Region Four Returning Officer, Clairmont Mingo was on Tuesday afternoon arrested at his sister’s residence at Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Guyana Police Force arrested Mingo in connection with alleged electoral fraud.
The court document states: “The accused, between March 5, 2020, and June 29, 2020, while performing his duty as the chief elections officer of the Guyana Elections Commission, without lawful excuse or justification, willfully misconducted himself at Georgetown… a place within the Georgetown Magisterial District by ascertaining results of the March 2, 2020, General and Regional Elections for Guyana, knowing the said results to be false, the said willful misconduct amounting to a breach of the public’s trust in the Office of the Chief Elections Officer of the Guyana Elections Commission.”
The charges were filed in March by Charles Ramson Jr against Mingo, and PNCR Chair, Volda Lawrence in relation to the controversial results for District Four.
