Guyana Govt Put Chinese Contractor On Notice.
China Harbour shafts the Government on the US 150 Million CJIA expansion project prompting rejection by the Head of State that he would not accept the project for the Guyanese People. The contract specifically stated new infrastructure yet the company refurbished the existing facility and failed to accommodate the required 8 air bridges ending up with only 4 mired in mechanical failures. A recent inspection found an Incomplete runway as works are ongoing at both ends. The terminal building that was renovated has significant defects roof leaks, defective tiling air conditioning troubles lighting, and recent flooding in the seating area. The company now faces an uphill task as pressure mounts to get their act together on a project that started in 2015 which was expected to be completed in December 2018 that never happened. Even now the project is ongoing.
